We owned and rode horses as a family all the years my children were growing up. We lived a few miles out of town and frequently enjoyed sunset trail rides in the surrounding countryside. We often saw roadrunners, bobcats, armadillos, and lots of deer when the children were quiet. Those evenings make up a few of my best loved memories.
